Track Day 34 -- The Ridge with Turn2 Motorsports - Trans Problems
This event immediately followed the Track Night in America event the day before. The focus was yet again on the Accordian project, as we'd wrenched the entire night before to get a new radiator and fan setup in the car for this event.
While the previous day was hotter at 100 degrees, this event was still a very hot one 94 degres. This event however allowed for a notable amount of additional time compared to the previous event. I had to "test" or "prove' I was worthy of their advanced group this event, which is something I personally. abhor doing, and sure enough... it was an unpleasant experience for me. Still though, the gentleman I tested with pointed out a few criteria I could improve on, so I did as he said, and did indeed run a new PB of 1:55.307 in TrackAddicts (10hz gps) so eh he wasn't totally wrong I did find 1 second of time out there.
I unfortunately started having griding between 3-4 shifts unless I really waited and let RPM's drop, which resulted in leaving a few tenths on the table I'm sure as well. That was a big bummer for me, as this likely meant an expensive transmission replacement.
I'm looking forward to getting into the 1:54 mark or so on a cooler day and with a functioning transmission, maybe even lower with power added as my top speed continues to remain around 128 mph or so and I have yet to break into the 130s.
Video to come soon, for now here's my best lap from Track Addicts:
